The 26th WorldMediaFetivals Television & Corporate Media Awards
In a celebration of global creativity and storytelling, the 26th edition of the WorldMediaFestivals took place over a single, unforgettable day in Berlin, drawing me professionals from across the world – from Japan to the USA – for inspiration, exchange, and recognition.

The Story House Day began at the cinema with two powerful keynote speeches. Acclaimed actor Werner Daehn, known for his roles in Valkyrie and The Lives of Others, opened with “The Importance of Preparation – Get in Touch with Your Story Through Your Senses,” reminding storytellers that true preparation requires sensory immersion, empathy, and deep connection beyond digital convenience.
Following him, Wojtek Jeżowski, CEO and Head of Creative at Poland’s Black Rabbit, energized the audience with “The Extraordinary Cost of Playing It Safe.” His compelling argument: boring B2B advertising doesn’t just fall flat — it’s expensive. With humor and real-world examples from creative SaaS campaigns, he pushed for bold, imaginative work that drives results.
In the Audience Choice Award segment, participants presented an eclectic mix of work — documentaries, corporate films, entertainment, and print media. After a round of peer voting, the winner was revealed that evening: France24, for their gripping documentary “Haiti – Iron Grip of the Gangs”.
At midday, attendees came together for lunch at a local Italian restaurant, seated at long shared tables that encouraged conversation and exchange — an informal setting that supported the festival’s focus on dialogue and connection.
The evening continued with the official gala, held in a historic 1920s mirror tent, lit by 300 candles that created a distinctive and memorable atmosphere. Marion Campbell, known for her roles in international productions like The Lion King and Ghost, as well as her appearance on The Voice, hosted the event with wit and warmth, guiding the audience through the award ceremony.

For the first time, the festival introduced Industry Awards, alongside its classic Silver, Gold, and Special Awards, as well as the prestigious Grand Awards for best-in-category.
The pinnacle of the night was the Grand Prix, awarded to Manuel Alvarez (USA) for Consuelo – a Vix Original Series, produced by Fig of Fruits. This moving submission stood above hundreds for its vision, storytelling, and impact.
Winners from 13 countries were present to celebrate, as Berlin once again proved itself a crossroads of cultures and creativity.
Special honors were also given to Mediacorp Singapore, named Broadcaster of the Year, and TVN Poland, recognized as Production Company of the Year, reflecting excellence across continents.
But perhaps the most powerful story of the day wasn’t just the winners – it was the warmth in the room. Festival Director Sara Chinbuah shared: “We’re striving for an atmosphere of generosity, openness, and shared joy.”
The festival hopes to offer more than just awards — aiming to create space for meaningful connection, exchange, and inspiration.
As the curtain falls on another remarkable edition, the WorldMediaFestivals 2025 leaves behind not just trophies, but bonds – between creators, between countries, and between stories waiting to be told.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all participants, presenters, partners, supporters and guests who made the 2025 edition so special. Your presence, your work, and your spirit are what bring the festival to life.

The Grand Prix winner is a work of exceptional merit, a film that has profoundly moved and impressed our jury with its powerful storytelling and impeccable craftsmanship. This year, the Grand Prix for Best of Festival goes to:
“Until the Last Drop” by Ewa Ewart, TVN Discovery Warner Bros, Poland!

Gala Evening in Hamburg Celebrates Excellence in International Media
The 25th WorldMediaFestivals culminated in a spectacular Gala evening in Hamburg, celebrating the pinnacle of international media achievements.
The day commenced with screenings of selected winning entries at a local cinema, offering audiences a glimpse into the diverse and compelling narratives crafted by filmmakers from around the globe.
Another inspiring moment of the daytime events was a keynote address by Monika Gossmann, an Oscar-winning film actress and Professor of Acting and Performing Arts at Florida State University. Her key note, titled “Cultural Dynamics in International Storytelling,” focused on the similarities and differences in filmmaking across the USA, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Russia. Gossmann emphasized the importance of believing in the idea and finding the best team for the idea to bridge the challenges of bringing a project from script to screen.
The evening’s awards ceremony, hosted at a prestigious venue with a stunning view across Hamburg, brought together representatives from 15 nations. The vibrant and collegial atmosphere was palpable, as attendees cheered for one another while receiving their awards. The ceremony featured a captivating performance by singing star Marion Campbell, further enhancing the celebratory mood.
Adding to the excitement were surprise awards, which left several guests with extra big smiles. The newly introduced Corazon Award, honoring WorldMediaFestivals Founder Cora Chinbuah, was a notable highlight, along with the Hand in Hand and Magic Wave Special Awards. The event also recognized the Grand Award for the best in each category, culminating in the announcement of the Grand Prix for Best of Festival.
This top honor was awarded to “Until the Last Drop” by Ewa Ewart, produced by TVN Discovery Warner Bros, Poland. The documentary was lauded for its journalistic rigor and powerful storytelling, addressing the global crisis surrounding rivers.
The Gala evening celebrated the universal language of film and its ability to transcend borders, leaving attendees inspired by the stories shared and the connections made.

Simply the Best . . .
Wojtek Jezowski is a repeat offender! He just can’t stop making great films!
In 2014 he took home the WorldMediaFestival Grand Prix for” 2020: THE SERIES” and now in 2022 he won the Grand Prix for the follow-up series “Project: 2030”. Both sci-fi series were created by Wojtek and his production company Black Rabbit, Poland, for Trend Micro.
PROJECT: 2030 has been translated in 10 languages and can be viewed here:
Wojtek has succeeded brilliantly in staging a complex topic in such a way that it is not only important and captivating for experts, but also for a global audience like you and me. It’s a challenge, since it is about how the advancing development of technologies and the resulting cybercrime could change our society in the near future, what impact cyberthreats, AR, VR, metahumans, metavers…. for all of us in the world by the year 2030 could have. A look into the future with topics that must interest each of us!
This branded sci-fi series proves once again that corporate films can be top-notch in every way. Keep on going, Wojtek!

An Award Ceremony of a different kind

An Award Ceremony of a different kind took place this year for Oliver Goetzl from Gulofilm, Hamburg. For his magnificent film WHITE WOLVES – GHOSTS OF THE ARCTIC, he was awarded the WorldMediaFestivals 2020 Grand Prix. But how to honour him in times of social distancing? Without a stage, without live band, without dinner, without guests, without spotlight, without applause, without the song “Simply the Best”. . without everything that usually bring the WorldMediaFestivals to life. . .
A meeting on a wonderful summer day at the banks of the river Elbe, the skyline of Hamburg in the background, chilled champagne, screeching seagulls, sparkling awards in the sun and a lot of good vibes – even with a face mask. The awards were handed over by Sara Chinbuah to the happy Grand-Prix winner Oliver Goetzl. There was a lot of laughing and chatting – and “Simply the Best” was played from the cell phone. Here are the pictures taken of this special moment 🙂
