Rules & Regulations

The Rules & Regulations for the WorldMediaFestivals | Television & Corporate Media Awards are issued in German and in English. In case of doubt the German version will be valid.


1. Festival Entries

All entries must be registered and submitted via the online WorldMediaFestival registration portal. Please create an account and log in to the portal, where entry forms can be saved for editing. Multiple submissions are permitted.

Requirements:

  • A separate entry form must be completed for each category entered.
  • The entry fee must be paid for each category entered.

Identical works that have already been submitted in a previous edition of the WorldMediaFestivals may not be resubmitted.

2. Rights of Use

By submitting a festival entry the entrant declares, that he is entitled to dispose of all rights to the use of the entry and vouches for these rights vis-a-vis the festival. The entrant warrants that the rights of use held by all authors, owners of ancillary copyrights and other parties involved in the production of the festival entry, except for the rights safeguarded by the performing rights societies, have been acquired in a due and proper manner and the exploitation of the festival entry is not barred by personality rights or other third party rights in any manner whatsoever.

When submitting a festival entry the entrant transfers rights to the use of the festival entry, specifically the right to present and demonstrate the entry in public and/or online either in whole or in part or to distribute the entry in whole or in part on a “Festival Reel”, or similar. This also applies to stills/images provided to the festival. All aforementioned transfers of use shall be of worldwide validity.

If you do not agree that your entry will be presented / shown during or after the festival event, you can note this in the registration form.

3. Year of Production

All festival entries must have been produced after January 1, 2022.

4. Closing Date

WorldMediaFestival | Television & Corporate Media Awards:
February 17, 2025: All festival entries must have been received by the festival

5. Language Versions

The festival language is English. Entries may be submitted in any language. Non-English versions compete in the same categories as English versions.

Non-English entries must include the following:

  • English subtitles, or
  • English voice-over
  • Print entries: at least two articles/sections translated and uploaded
  • Audio entries: a complete English script
6. Formats and How to Send

All entries have to be submitted online. Entry forms are saved for you for editing.

Film

Resolution: 1280 x720 (preferred) or 1920×1080

16:9, mp4, optional: .mpg; .mpeg; .mpeg4, .mov

Frame rate: 25 fps
Video Codec: H.264
Audio Codec: AAC
  • Upload to server via the registration portal.

Not acceptable are:

  • Additional inserts at the beginning or end of the medium (e.g., name of entering company, category, etc.)
  • Time codes or watermarks
  • Advertisements

 

Entertainment categories

Short Film: under 40 min
Film: over 40 min
Series: maximum duration per episode: 60 minutes.
Maximum number of representative episodes per series: 2 episodes.

Online categories

All submitted URLs must be active from the time you submit your entry through June 2025. Optional: If submitting a web video (URL) please also upload to server via the registration portal / see format specifications above.

Social Media categories

When submitting a campaign or project, please select materials that effectively highlight the key aspects of your work. You may include up to three supporting files with your submission, with each file counted as one item. Acceptable materials include project plans, press releases, images, PowerPoint presentations (up to 10 slides), and videos with a maximum total length of 3 minutes.

Additionally, you can provide links to online resources, such as websites, intranet pages, social media profiles, or videos hosted on digital platforms. Please ensure that all links are permanent and remain accessible for an extended period.

If any of your materials are not in English, please provide a full English script or translation and upload it as a PDF.

Note: Use the upload sections thoughtfully to represent your entry in the best way possible. It is not mandatory to use all upload options—choose the ones that best showcase your project.

Print categories

Submissions may be digital or physical. If submitters determine that physical presentation elements, such as paper quality or print finish, enhance the work, they are welcome to send printed copies. Sending physical print materials is optional, and either format is acceptable for review.

Please send print entries in one pre-paid package to the festival office. Collect package or any customs duty will not be accepted.

Providing significant stills / images / logos from your entries to be used by the festival for promotional purposes will be appreciated, is however optional.

The entrant is responsible for the technical quality of the media submitted.

7. Fees

The fee for each festival entry per one category is EUR 435.

Cancellations of submitted entries are not possible.

All fees can only be paid in EUR by bank transfer, credit card or PayPal. For Germany the legal VAT will be charged. EU countries must provide their VAT identification number incl. country code so that the VAT can be waived.

Please make sure that all information provided in the online registration form are complete and correct. An additional fee of EUR 50 will be applied per one change requested once the registration form has been submitted.

Fees as well as payments from outside Germany:

  • Account to account: Preferred method of payment within the EU.

All bank charges to be prepaid by entrant.

Fees for multiple entries are accepted in one amount.

  • PayPal: 2% per each entry for PayPal charges will be added.
  • Credit Cards

All fees are due immediately upon registration. Entry fees or any other fees are not refundable and are not subject to any legal appeal.

Any customs duty or any handling-fee to be pre-paid by the entrant. Any such fees are not accepted by the festival.

Judging results will be withheld until all entry fees have been paid in full.

8. Winners Notification

Award-winners will be notified by eMail as well as in the portal.

The decisions of the jury are not contestable. Decisions of the jury and the festival organization are final and not subject to any legal appeal.

Shortlisted winners will be notified following the jury session in April 2025. The final announcement of whether these shortlisted entries have received a Silver, Gold, or higher award will be made at the Awards Gala on May 20, 2025, in Berlin, Germany. All winners will be showcased publicly on our website following the event, notified via email, and have their information updated in the portal.

Each winning entry will receive a trophy and certificate for the submitting company. Additional copies of trophies and certificates can be purchased after the ceremony.

Awards not being collected at the Awardshow will be sent to the entrant. All freight charges, including custom taxes have to be taken over by the recipient. This also applies to any duplicate items ordered.

9. Liability of the Festival

The festival reserves the right to reclassify festival entries into other categories where this is deemed appropriate. The festival does not accept any responsibility for festival entries which are classified in the wrong category or arrive at the festival office subsequent to the deadline specified. The festival’s liability is confined to intent or grossly negligent conduct. The festival organisation does not accept any responsibility for the cancellation of the festival due to for example terrorism, terrorism threat, strike action, pandemics, force majeure and/or similar.

10. Award Deadlines and Shipping Information

Free awards (trophy and certificate) must be claimed by 30 June 2025. After this date, we reserve the right to no longer make unclaimed awards available. Due to limited storage space, unclaimed awards may be repurposed or recycled.

Duplicates (extra trophies or certificates) can be ordered until 10 June 2025. All duplicate orders will be produced and shipped in July.

We encourage all participants to place their orders in time to ensure availability and timely delivery.

11. Shipping and Customs Information

Shipping is carried out in accordance with Incoterm DAP (Delivered at Place) to the delivery address provided by the ordering party.

Shipping costs are to be paid by the ordering party during the ordering process. The ordering party is also responsible for all customs clearance procedures, import duties, taxes, and any other fees that may arise in the destination country. It is the responsibility of the ordering party to ensure that the delivery address is complete, accurate, and accessible.

The seller does not monitor the shipment after dispatch. A tracking number will be provided, which the ordering party must use to track the shipment independently via the courier service.

In the event of delivery issues or delays, the ordering party is required to contact the courier directly. If delivery fails due to an incorrect address, absence of the recipient, or refusal to accept the parcel, the ordering party shall bear any resulting return shipping costs and/or the cost of a second dispatch.

12. Miscellaneous

The festival reserves the right to compile entries on a “Festival Reel” or similar, also in processed form, and to distribute same on a medium deemed appropriate by the festival, this also applies to stills/images provided to the festival. The entrants transfer all rights appropriate in this context upon entrance of the festival entry to the festival. The festival reserves the right to use all recordings taken at the festival event for any promotional purpose in any medium deemed appropriate by the festival. The festival reserves the right to exclude entries from the competition.

By entering a festival entry the entrant accepts all Rules and Regulations and also agrees to hold the festival harmless against all costs or claims of third parties arising from any such use by the festival or from false information by the entrant.

The festival will not sell or rent personal data provided by you. Exclusive place of jurisdiction is Hamburg, Germany.
